Natural hot spring water, straight from the source — available 24 hours a day.

Misuzuso first opened in 1960 as a small family-run inn in Norikura Kogen. Its shape has changed with the times, but the same relaxed, home-like warmth — somewhere between a ryokan and a minshuku — remains at its heart today.
Warm wood and Japanese design come together in a modern take on mountain-lodge style. Nestled within Chubu-Sangaku National Park at 1,400m elevation, let the milky-white hot spring and the gifts of the mountains help you unwind, just as you are.
The milky-white waters of Norikura Kogen Onsen, in both indoor and outdoor baths, available any time — even under a sky full of stars.
From our signature wild mushroom hot pot to mountain vegetables and horse meat, our kaiseki-style dinners are built on gentle, local ingredients. Grilled iwana (mountain trout) is available as a special dish, ordered separately.
Hop on a bus for Kamikochi, or head straight to the Mt. Norikura trailhead during climbing season. A convenient base for exploring the Northern Japan Alps.

Norikura Kogen Onsen flows straight from the source, 24 hours a day, in separate indoor and outdoor baths for men and women. On cold nights, watch the stars through the rising steam; in the morning, feel the light filtering through the trees. Take your time, and enjoy the water fully.

Our signature "kinoko nabe" (wild mushroom hot pot), packed with wild mushrooms that mark the arrival of autumn in Shinshu, is a Misuzuso specialty. Mountain vegetables and Shinshu's famous horse meat are each prepared with care using local ingredients. Grilled iwana (mountain trout) is available as a special dish, ordered separately.
We believe in flavor over quantity. Enjoy a meal that lets the true taste of each ingredient shine, in our warm, mountain-lodge-style dining room.

Staying right in the heart of Kamikochi — where private cars are restricted — can be a little inconvenient, and a little pricey. Just outside that area, Norikura Kogen offers a more affordable home base. Misuzuso is your gateway to it all.
