How much does the private bath cost?

Weekday stays, or bookings made through our official site, get 30 minutes free, any day of the week. Otherwise, rates start at ¥1,100 for 30 minutes, with ¥550 added per additional 15 minutes. We'll guide you to the private bath at the front desk after you check in.

How many private baths are there, and how big are they?

We have one private bath, about 13 tatami mats in size. It includes both an indoor bath and an open-air bath.

When does the cancellation fee start?

For bookings made through our official site or by phone, cancellation fees are 25% of the total stay from 7 days before, 50% from 1 day before, and 100% for same-day cancellations or no-shows. Bookings made through other sites such as Rakuten Travel, Jalan, or Yahoo! Travel are subject to that site's own policy.

How much does the two-meals-included plan cost?

As a guide, for two guests sharing an ensuite room (with private toilet and washroom) on our two-meals-included plan, per-person rates are ¥14,850 on weekdays, ¥16,500 on weekends in regular season, and ¥17,050 on weekends in peak season. Rates vary by room type and season — please check our online booking calendar for exact pricing.

How do I get to Kamikochi?

Private cars are restricted in Kamikochi, so access is by bus from the Kamikochi shuttle bus stop (Sawando Bus Terminal), about 15 minutes by car from Misuzuso. Staying in Norikura Kogen is more convenient and affordable than staying in central Kamikochi, and also puts you close to Mt. Norikura.

How do I get to Mt. Norikura (Tatami-daira)?

Mt. Norikura also has a private-car restriction. The Norikura Echo Line shuttle bus runs from the Norikura Kogen Tourist Center to Tatami-daira, about 55 minutes. It typically operates from July 1 to October 31, and reservations are recommended.

How far is it to Takayama, the Shinhotaka Ropeway, and Shirakawa-go?

Via Route 158 and the toll Abo Tunnel, it's about 1 hour 10 minutes to central Takayama, about 50 minutes to the Shinhotaka Ropeway, and about 2 hours to Shirakawa-go. Many guests use Misuzuso as a base for day trips by car or rental car.

How long does it take from Hida-Kiyomi IC to Misuzuso?

Some of our rooms (our ensuite room type) have a private toilet and washroom, though no private bathtub — bathing is done in our shared hot spring baths or the private bath. Other rooms share the toilet, washroom, and bath with other guests.

Do the rooms have a refrigerator?

Yes, every room is equipped with a refrigerator.

Is air conditioning available in every room?

Yes, every room is equipped with air conditioning.

What amenities are provided in the rooms?

For adults, we provide a toothbrush, yukata robe, bath towel, and large bath towel. For children, we provide a toothbrush, bath towel, and large bath towel. We don't provide amenities for infants, so please bring anything you may need. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided in the bathing area, free for anyone to use.

Can preschool-age children stay? Is it free for a child sharing a bed?

Yes, preschool-age children are welcome. For a child sharing a bed with no meals or bedding included, the charge is ¥2,200 per child.

Can I use the hot spring without staying overnight?

Yes, day-use bathing is available. Please call us for details on pricing and hours.

Is the hot spring available 24 hours a day?

Yes, Misuzuso's natural hot spring is available around the clock, with the spring water flowing continuously (gensen kake-nagashi).

What kind of hot spring is it, and what are its effects?

Our hot spring is a simple sulfur spring (tan-jun ryuo-sen), pH 3.3. General indications include neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, joint stiffness, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive conditions, hemorrhoids, poor circulation, recovery from illness, fatigue recovery, and general health promotion. Spring-specific indications include cuts, burns, chronic skin conditions, chronic gynecological conditions, diabetes, high blood pressure, and arteriosclerosis.

When was Misuzuso founded?
